Why so angry?

The internet is an amazing thing. With it, anyone can speak their minds, anyone can seek any information they want or need, and of course you can now read breaking news as it happens. One major thing I believe the internet to be responsible for is the increasing popularity of Atheism. Something like twenty percent of Americans now don't identify themselves with any religion, sure Christianity still accounts for about seventy percent, but that number is steadily dropping. Thanks to this fact and the internet, there are now a seemingly infinite number of voices passionately speaking out against religion. Many people complain that they are just too gosh darned angry.

Here's a list of reasons why any atheist would be crazy not to be angry.

George H.W. Bush, our forty-first presidents had this to say about atheists:

"No, I don't know that atheists should be regarded as citizens, nor should they be regarded as patriotic. This is one nation under God."

Yes, that's our then-president saying that we are not even citizens and are incapable of being patriotic. Replace "atheists" with "blacks", "jews", or "gays" and read that out loud for full effect.

Children die of easily treatable illnesses because their religious parents decided to pray instead or taking them to a hospital.

There are still states where it's illegal for an atheist to run for public office.

The religious often tell their children that they are worthless of their own and deserve to suffer in Hell for all eternity. These children are often denied any evidence contrary to the parent's belief system.

Atheists frequently receive death threats from "loving" christians.

People are brainwashed into believing that their natural bodily functions are evil and shameful.

The catholic church defends child molesters.

We would have walked on the moon five hundred years ago if it wasn't for the church hindering scientific advancements.

Homosexuals still cannot marry each other simply due to other's religious beliefs.

People are told on a weekly basis that atheists are "devil-worshippers."

Evolution is seen as being silly yet the idea that man is made of dirt is just fine.
